Wood Lane Nature Reserve " WLNR "

I spent a lovely few hours at wood lane nature reserve near Ellesmere in Shropshire yesterday, it made a nice change to get out to somewhere different  for a change & it's a place I will return to.
I must not forget to thank the dragon err I mean the wife for taking the time to drive me there ( she went shopping in Tesco's ) even she said that it's nicely laid out with a picnic area, well away from the main birdwatching areas, the only drawback is there are no toilet's, other than that  the place is really user friendly.
Both hides are KEY CODE locked, the code has to be applied for from the WLNR web site, the first hide near the car park was full !, on the scrape  it overlooked where a couple of shell duck, lapwing & some teal  I later found-out they where watching a lone water rail which turned out to be the bird of the day, lucky for me about an hour later I had the hide to myself, I had been told that the canny little bird would wait for other birds to use the feeders then come out to clean up any seed that had been dropped.
I hope you like the photo's I will post more tomorrow
